The next International Legal Ethics Conference will be held at the University of Houston December 2-4, 2026
I’m thrilled to announce that the eleventh biennial International Legal Ethics Conference 2026 (ILEC XI) will be held in exactly two years, December 2-4, 2026, hosted by the University of Houston Law Center with generous support from the Elizabeth D. Rockwell Center on Ethics and Leadership at the University of Houston Hobby School of Public Affairs.
We can’t wait to welcome you to the “Most Diverse Large City in the US.”
Overview
The conference theme is: “The Next Era in Legal and Judicial Ethics.” We are planning for three days of plenary sessions and panel discussions focused on the following themes:
Access to Justice Ethics
Empirical and Interdisciplinary Approaches to Ethics, the Legal Profession, and the Judiciary
Ethics in the Judiciary
Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Technology in the Legal Profession and the Judiciary
Globalization, the Rule of Law, and Ethics
Governmental Lawyers and Ethics
Leadership and Ethics
Philosophy and Ethics
Regulation of the Legal Profession
Teaching Legal and Judicial Ethics
Logistics
Venue: The University of Houston Student Center
Recommended Hotel: The University of Houston Hilton, located across from the event venue (we are working on securing a hotel block with a reduced rate). Additional hotel options can be found here.
Transportation: Getting to the University of Houston is easy. Two international airports are located within a 30 minute drive. Learn more here.
Tentative Schedule: Plan for the first session to begin at 10:30AM on Wednesday, December 2, 2026, and for the final session to conclude by 11:45AM on Friday, December 4, 2026.
